DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
1. I begin by decompressing your entire body.
2. As the tissue relaxes I move into assessment and testing of your symptoms.
3. Once I have pin pointed your origin of discomfort, I begin a direct treatment approach that brings relief and your body to a functional state.
4. Space is created as I unwind your soft tissue, allowing your bones to glide in their proper range of motion.
5. Relief can be experienced as your bones no longer pinch nerves.
* Deep Tissue Treatments never extend past a pain greater than 7 out of 10.
What is a Deep Tissue Specifically ?
Deep Tissue Massage focuses on deeper layers of muscle tissue, releasing chronic tension and patterns throughout the body. Using slow strokes and applying deep, direct pressure to problem areas, toxins are removed while the muscles are soothed and relaxed. The procedure is both corrective and therapeutic, and is often used as part of a rehabilitation program.
** Please Note: Deep Tissue will not be used on acute symptoms.
Areas that benefit from Deep Tissue Massages:
• Treats Chronic Back Pain
• Helps Lower High Blood Pressure
• Reduces Stress, Anxiety and Muscle Tension
• Breaks Up Scar Tissue
• Improves Athletic Recovery and Performance
• Reduces Arthritis Symptoms
MASSAGE FOR CHILDREN
Regular massage has so many benefits for children:
• decreasing anxiety and increasing calmness
• decreasing tone from activity
• encourage discussion about their body's well being
Bones can get misaligned and muscles stained when children injure themselves. Luckily, it doesn’t take much to get a child's body back on track.
** Please Note:
-
Bring shorts and a tank top for the child. (I’ve recently had a 4 year old lay still for 60minutes and enjoy the whole experience).
PREGNANCY MASSAGE
Women can begin massage therapy at any point in their pregnancy – during the first, second, or third trimester.
From conception to birth - Feet, legs, back, arms and neck are safe the whole time.
Pregnancy pillows may be used while the abdomen is small. Then expect to be propped up with pillows laying on your sides.
Indications:
• Back, neck, feet pain
• Sciatic nerve pain
• Swelling
• Restless leg
• Headaches
• Carpal tunnel
• Relaxation
Post natal: Massage therapy can be a great tool to smooth out this process as your body shifts from carrying a baby within to carrying a baby out.
Skeletal Realignment, gaining strength, healing, breastfeeding are all new activities that can be aided through regular massage therapy.
RELAXATION / SWEDISH MASSAGE
'Stress causes a numerous amount of issues for your body. High blood pressure, headaches, muscle tension, ulcers, and weakened immune system are just a few of the many health issues stress can trigger. Relaxation helps counteract these effects by giving your body a chance to calm down!'
I use essential oils, dim lights, relaxing music and a slow but moderate pressure of massage therapy to work wonders on your nervous system.
